Oaxaca, Mexico Armadillo Folkart Carving
As one of the most imaginative creations of well-know Oaxacan artisan Eleazar Morales, this armadillo has a definite surreal feeling. Its back has two designs - a fish skeleton and varied pattern on one side, and a lizard skeleton (shown) with a varied pattern on the other side, with grey and white and green and black geometric designs. The armadillo's grey head is painted with an intricate multi-colored design of blue, red, black and peach. The feet are also painted with a skeleton design. The tail is black, white and peach. An amazing carving!!! Approximate dimensions: 11" Long x 5" Wide x 4" High. Truly a collector's dream.
